Regular business activities and planning highlights for Program Activity 1.1, Science and Technology for Public Health, are influenced by two risk areas. Identified in the Agency's 2011 corporate risk profile, the risk areas of infectious disease and food-borne illness most strongly shape the context in which the Agency pursues two expected results of: one, public health professionals have access to timely and reliable reference testing to support public health decisions and interventions; and two, public health professionals have access to research findings and scientific information to support public health decisions and interventions. Realizing these Agency-level outcomes contributes to the Government of Canada outcome of Healthy Canadians.
