Department of Justice Program Activity Architecture

The box graph illustrates three free floating boxes on the top of the graph, in a horizontal line with the following titles; Strategic Outcomes, Program Activities, and Sub-Activities. Beneath the left most box, Strategic Outcomes, is another box which reads S.O. I A fair, relevant and accessible justice system than reflects Canadian values. Beneath the S.O.I box is another box which reads S.O. II A federal government supported by effective and responsive legal services.

The S.O.I box is connected by arrows pointing to two Program Activities, each in a separate box; A1 Justice Policies, Laws and Programs, and A2-Office of the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime. A1 Justice Policies, laws and programs has an arrow extending to the right to the box under the Program Sub-Activities to a box which has a bulleted list of the following; Criminal Justice, Family Justice, Access to Justice, Aboriginal Justice, and Private International and Public Law.

The S.O. II box below also has an arrow pointing from its box to the Program Activity box to its right. The box, under Program Activities read B1 - Services to Government. The is box has an arrow which extends to a box under the Program Sub Activities column with a bulleted list which reads: Government-at-Large and the Justice Portfolio; Aboriginal Affairs Portfolio; Business and Regulatory Law Portfolio; Central Agencies Portfolio; Public Safety, Defence and Immigration Portfolio; and Tax Law Services.

At the bottom of the box graph there is a box with three arrows pointing up to all three columns. This box has a title, C1 - Internal Services, and includes the following bulleted list: Governance and management services; Resource management services; Asset management services. Next to this box is a small icon of a red maple leaf inside a blue globe with a green leaf, a symbol used to represent activities that contribute to Theme IV of the Federal Sustainable Development Strategy.
