Internal Disclosure Policy Notice 2003-1 - Changes required due to the implementation of the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Service

SUBJECT: Treasury Board Policy on the Internal Disclosure of Information Concerning Wrongdoing in the Workplace - Changes required to be current with the implementation of the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Service.

Summary of Policy Changes

1. The Treasury Board Internal Disclosure Policy has been updated with respect to the following sections: effective date; definition of wrongdoing to include a breach of the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Service; the inclusion of the Code in responsibilities of employees; and the inclusion of the Code in references. These modifications are a reflection of the implementation of the Code and the policy's link with the Code's Chapter 4 entitled Avenues of Resolution.

2. Revised wording for this policy may be found at Annex 1.

Implementation

3. These policy changes are effective September 1, 2003. The Treasury Board Secretariat will also provide information to the community responsible for receiving disclosures of wrongdoing.
