Please note that Appendices 1 and 2 of the Directive specifically address the linguistic identification of positions.

Determining the Linguistic Profile of Bilingual Positions is a tool to help managers determine the linguistic profile of a bilingual position. Managers must still analyze each position as required by section 91 of the Official Languages Act and the Directive on Official Languages for People Management. For a generic staffing process, they must analyze the linguistic profile of each position within the process.
