SUBJECT: Designated levels for the evaluation of the supervision factor in some job evaluation standards

Background

Some job evaluation standards contain a supervision factor, which requires information related to the level of the positions supervised. In these standards points are given for the level of positions supervised. These are categorized as junior, intermediate, and senior levels.

The Treasury Board used to publish this information in the Personnel Management Manual (PMM), Appendix D: List of Classification Standards.

The PMM has been replaced by the Treasury Board Policy on People Management.

Application

Effective September 30, 2014, the appended list may be used only to rate the supervision factor in the following standards:

  • Administrative Services (AS)
  • Education – Education Services (ED-EDS)
  • Engineering and Land Survey – Survey (EN-SUR)
  • Welfare Programmes (WP)

Organizational design and classification advisors (OC) and managers who have classification authority sub-delegated to them by their deputy head are expected to comply with the information and direction contained in this bulletin.

Enquiries

All questions pertaining to this interpretation bulletin should be directed to your organizational corporate classification team, who, if required, will direct their questions to the Workforce Organization and Classification of the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer: ZZORGCLA@tbs-sct.gc.ca
