Departmental Improvement Targets

The diagram illustrates the Department Improvement Targets related to implementing the Enhanced Framework as 4 plateaus (with corresponding target completion dates) and solutions to be completed at each.

• Plateau 0: Project Solutions and Improvement Plans to be implemented by March 1998
• Plateau 1: Project planning, project tracking and oversight, and subcontract management. To be implemented by March 1999.
• Plateau 2: Requirements management, configuration management, and quality assurance. To be completed by March 2000.
• Plateau 3: Peer reviews, intergroup co-ordination, S/W product engineering, integrated S/W management, training program, organization process definition, organization process focus.
• Plateau 4: Continuous improvement.

The implementation of both the people and process solutions, are shown as being cyclical in nature, with improvements planned, implemented, reviewed and then improved upon again throughout the implementation process.
