In 2002 there were 1,813 reported accidents, 1,376 mandatorily reported incidents, 661 voluntarily reported incidents, 191 fatalities.
In 2003 there were 1,971 reported accidents, 1,391 mandatorily reported incidents, 673 voluntarily reported incidents, 172 fatalities.
In 2004 there were 1,941 reported accidents, 1,484 mandatorily reported incidents, 680 voluntarily reported incidents, 186 fatalities.
In 2005 there were 2,046 reported accidents, 1,371 mandatorily reported incidents, 622 voluntarily reported incidents, 188 fatalities.
In 2006 there were 1,921 reported accidents, 1,326 mandatorily reported incidents, 564 voluntarily reported incidents, 168 fatalities.

3% of the population have a low confidence level when it comes to the safety and security of air travel, 44% are moderately confident and 53% are highly confident.
